Day 41 -HOME SWEET HOME!

The day we’ve been longing in finally here! Woohoo!! I couldn’t believe 1.5 months/6 weeks/42 days passed so fast, just like that! I remember hesitating so long whether to join the 4th batch OIP or not, and before I know it, I’m done with the 6 weeks in Wuhan. And I’ve definitely enjoyed myself much despite some homesick moments.

So, keys had to be returned by 7am and we were told to meet at the entrance of our hostel by 8am with our luggage and what not, then slowly get everyone’s luggage up the bus. Some local students were there to send us of, and they helped carry the luggage up the bus. We were like some celebrities leaving that so many people were looking, even the back street food vendors. Oh, and I bought my last meal (XIAO LONG BAO!) from the back street before we got on the bus.

Then, we’re on our way to the airport.

as our flight from Wuhan to Guang Zhou was delayed, we weren't able to catch our flight from Guang Zhou back to Singapore. there was a little commotion when we arrived at Guang Zhou, but was later solved and the flight to Singapore was dalayed! for the first time ever, the airplane really waits! HAHA! thats because more than half of the plane was empty as there were ALOT of Ngee Ann students apart from MDE and ECE, there was EE students too!

Finally, it was already 11plus when we arrived at Changi Airport!






Reflection:

Throughout this 6 weeks, i've learnt alot and much more than what i came to Wuhan wanting to learn and experience about. too much to say, but i'll definately miss this OIP trip that brought me much laughter. :) and i would STRONGLY ENCOURAGE those who havent joined, to join the next batch of OIP to have your own experience! :D

Day 40

Today's our last day in Wuhan and we’ll be flying back to Singapore! I can’t believe I actually miss the time i spent with my friends here throughout this 6 weeks! We did some last minute packing and ensure that we pack all our things in, for the weighting of luggage at noon as requested by Ms Neo as she didnt want us to unpack our luggage in the airport tomorrow!
i had a pretty hard time trying to ensure my luggage stays within 30kg. in the end, i had to go around asking others for help and i managed to get someone from ECE to help me with the weight. :)

after much packing and weighing, we headed to Guang Gu AGAIN for the last hair wash at Yes I Do, via "black cab" this time as it saves us time and money if we were to take a bus or leagal taxi. :)

of course, we went back with our hair done nicely! :) i'll definitely miss this hair saloon. :/

Day 39

Our second last day! We didn’t want to waste any time so we went Wal Mart to see if we had anything to buy, and had Dinner and KFC!

After that, we decided to have a Kbox session at Xiao Pin Mao! The place is called “Kuai Le Kong Jian” and the interior design was amazing! We got Wu Di and Zi Wei to come along as a form of “last gathering”, and they rushed over after their lesson. And guess what? They have lessons on SUNDAY NIGHT!!! Omg, I don’t think I can survive school life like that. -.-

Day 38

Today we had Brazil BBQ buffet and went to the amusement park today with Wu Di and Wu Shu! Was supposed to meet up with Zi Wei and Li Ying as well, but they had something on last minute. -.- whatever it is, we met at 11.30am and headed off to Xiao Pin Mao (nearby), but we had to walk quite a distance for the Brazil BBQ buffet for lunch. Guess what? Its only 38rmb per pax and they serve really nice food! Okay, maybe only the meat (especially the turkey ham!) was worth eating, the rest were just like any normal food they have in Singapore.





tee li was so greedy she stuffed 8 pieces of cookies into her mouth at one shot! HAHAHA!


So after eating, we’re off to the amusement park! As Wu Di and Wu Shu wasn’t familiar around Wuhan, we walked a super long distance just to look for that park. To my disappointment, the park was erm…… not as nice as I thought. Though it was really big and that many couples had bridal shots there, I thought it’ll be something like Singapore’s escape theme park (I know it’s a bad example but I can’t possibly compare that with USS right?). Well, we didn’t want to waste Wu Di’s effort so we tried one of the best rides there.

Reflection:

I was really anticipating the rides but we only played 2 rides and left that place. Felt quite retarded coz we went through all the trouble looking high and low for the place and we only spent less than 2 hours in the park. It was quite big but there wasn’t much that we like to play. We had to pay for every ride we wanna play though the admission was free. I personally don’t like the way it works, maybe I’m too used to amusement parks that requires only single admission fee and we can play whatever rides we want for free throughout the whole day.

Day 36 & Day 37

Day 36:

Since it was already free and easy for us till our last day, Went to jiang han lu to shop AGAIN!


and after so many weeks of shopping, i learnt their way of doing business and mastered my bargaining skill too! HAHA! here, they would always reply us with the same answer " this is a new piece!" whenever we ask "can we have a new piece?", and also replying that they dont earn alot whenever we bargain with them.

Day 37:

Today I’ve decided to be a hermit and stay in the hostel while Mei Xiu, Tee Li, Yan Ting and Amanda went out. I tried to upload pictures that were long overdue to blog but failed many times as I was having problem with the VPN connection again. -.-
After which, was a farewell dinner with the local students and teachers, at a nearby restaurant. We had to meet at 5.30pm at the school main entrance to take a group photo before walking over to the restaurant.

the food served was the best throughout our 6 weeks in Wuhan i must say! i like! :D

Day 35

We visited the new campus of WUST, HuangJiaHu Campus(黄家湖校区) in the afternoon! its located at Wuchang District(武昌区) and we had to take a 1.5 hours bus ride in order to reach the campus. Upon arriving, we see a big group of students standing outside the main entrance waiting for us, giving us a warm welcome! i felt lke a super star! HAHA!






Not like the old campus that we're staying, the new campus is located in some secluded area where ther's no shopping mall nearby! We were each assigned a partner, using that 'draw lot' system. ERMMM, i can't remember my partner's name pardon me, as i'm really bad in remembering chinese names. :/

We then went to a room where we had an exchange speech and performances. We had to perform the NDP song that we had performed before previously during interaction night, and i was totally caught off gaurd 'cause i totally forgot how to dance!!!!

then we went to the health science department and saw REAL HUMAN bodies cut into different parts, showing every single part and functions of our body.
